US, France And Israel Announce Israel-Lebanon “Ceasefire” … And Hezbollah Violates It Hours Later

Hezbollah was not a signatory to the just announced “ceasefire” between Israel and Lebanon. A “ceasefire” that does not directly include the enemy you’re fighting against is unilateral, and a “ceasefire” that is unilateral is not a ceasefire. It is politics. To what end remains to be seen. Perhaps any significant violation will be blamed on Iran, giving Israel the pretext to respond against Iran in a much more forceful manner. Whatever the plans are behind the scenes, considering the fact that an actual 2006 ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah turned out to be nothing but an abject failure, does anyone truly believe that a “ceasefire” which omits Hezbollah will result in a peaceful northern Israel border this time around? Don’t count on it …

Lebanon Ceasefire Takes Effect – “The ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon went into effect at 4:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning, hours after the Israeli Cabinet on Tuesday evening approved the ceasefire deal, which was brokered by the US, by a majority of 10 to 1.

The Prime Minister’s Office stated, ‘The Security Cabinet, this evening (Tuesday, 26 November 2024), in a 10-1 vote, approved the US proposal for a ceasefire arrangement in Lebanon. Israel appreciates the US contribution to the process, and maintains its right to act against any threat to its security.’

‘Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, this evening (Tuesday, 26 November 2024), spoke to US President Joe Biden and thanked him for the US involvement in achieving the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon and for the understanding that Israel maintains freedom of action in enforcing it,’ the PMO said.

The only minister who voted against the proposal was National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.

‘The Cabinet’s decision tonight is a serious mistake. A ceasefire at this stage will not return the residents of the north to their homes, will not deter Hezbollah, and will in fact miss a historic opportunity to deal them a hard blow and bring them to their knees,’ Ben Gvir said.” Read more.

1st Ceasefire Violation: Hezbollah Terrorists Near Israeli Border, IDF Fires Warning – “IDF forces on Wednesday morning responded to a ceasefire violation by the Hezbollah terror group. During the incident, Hezbollah terrorists neared the Lebanese village of Kfarkela, which overlooks the northern Israeli town of Metula. Spotting the terrorists, the Israeli forces fired warning shots. The incident follows a ceasefire deal between Israel and Lebanon – to which the Hezbollah terror group is not a signatory – which promises that south of the Litani River, there will be only Lebanese military forces, and not military forces of Hezbollah or any other terror group.” Read more.
