I have yet to find something bad to say about this sleeping bag. I am 6′ and 225# and slip into and out of this bag with ease. I can move and stretch in a warm and cozy environment. The coldest I have slept in so far has been in the mid-teens. I slept very well. It is light and great for backpacking. The price was half of similar bags I viewed and it also had free shipping. A true hidden diamond.

If you are one of those people that gets cold when camping or you are tired of cheaply made or thin silky bags, this is the bag you are looking for. This bag is massive, good for a big 6’2″ fella like myself. The quality of the construction is top notch, very durable. The inside of this bag is warm cotton fiber, not silky. The mummy top has 2 drawstrings that can zip you up lke a turtle in harsh conditions but you can still have a world class game of footsie down at the bottom; it has a spacious 3.5″ of width. Even the stuff sack has clips, drawstrings, and looks waterproof! The velcro closure by the zipper has a big “0 Degree” embroidered into it. A very no-nonsense product for people that love to go camping but need quality gear that is going to keep them warm and comfortable on those fall fishing trips in the mountains. It has some real weight to it so if you are a backpacker you’d want to go with something else. For car camping, camping in the snow, and for situations where warm and comfort is a necessity this bag scores very high. Phenomenal price, incredible product.

Got two of these sleeping bags for myself and my grandson, Nolan, to use when his dad and his other cool grampa decided to take him on a 13th birthday hike he wouldn’t forget. The four of us snowshoed and skiied through a five-foot base of powder snow to an altitute of about 10,000 feet on Colorado’s Grand Mesa. Aided by Nolan’s mixed breed mountain dog, Templeton, best dog in the world, we built a snow cave, outside dimensions about 16×12 feet, oval shaped, with an inside dome about 4-feet high in the center and hollowed out sleeping “rooms.” After climbing a nearby summit, we returned and rolled out these sleeping bags over a “mattress” of pine boughs and thin, inexpensive ensolite pads. Outside overnight, the temperature plunged to about ten below zero, but inside the snow cave it stayed at just about the freezing mark of 32-degrees F. I was actually skeptical when I bought these bags. As as an Adirondack Winter 46er I’ve spent many uncomfortable nights in tents on the sides of mountains where the mercury has plunged as low as minus-42 F. Even in a very expensive goosedown bag rated to minus-30, staying comfortable is difficult in any sub-zero situation. For the money, I would rank this bag alongside almost any of the “name brands” that you would pay hundreds of dollars for. Sure it’s bulkier and heavier. But you would have to go a long way to find a more fairly priced bag that will keep you warm in a snow cave down to the freezing mark. You wouldn’t take it on an Everest or Denali expedition, for sure. But if you want to find out what winter camping is all about without investing a ton of money in a sleeping bag, this is the way to go. ALL winter bags are over-rate when it comes to staying warm on really, really butt-cold nights. But for the money, this bag can hardly be beat. Ideal for single-night outings on winter evenings when the bottom doesn’t fall completely out of the thermometer…. I also give Amazon five stars for this particular purchase. I ordered two of the bags and had them delivered to Colorado so I wouldn’t have to haul a ton of gear from NY State for just a night or two of camping. When UPS delivered one of the bags to the wrong address (a mistake discovered later), Amazon immediately shipped a replacement overnight to make up for UPS’s errant delivery. The entire experience left me with a warm feeling – even in a snow cave on a sub-zero mountainside.
