Turkish Delight

I was recently given the chance to test fire a SARB6P. I was at my favorite gun shop and I was told basically to take this gun home and a box of bangs and report back. I was in the right place at the right time and I sure like when that happens. The SARB6P is a compact single-action/double 9mm from SAR (Sarsilmaz) Arms out of Istanbul, Turkey. SAR Arms has been around since 1880. This was one of several of the Rockledge Florida-based importer EAA ( https://eaacorp.com ) guns in the display case at my shop. The European American Armory …

New Magpul 10 and 20 Round PMAGs

Magpul recently announced their new Gen 3 10 round and 20 round PMAG. The 20 rounder is shipping now while the 10 rounder will be available in February of 2013 both with an MSRP of $13.95. The 20 rounder will be handy for hunters and precision shooters who may find it difficult to shoot with standard capacity magazines while prone or on a bench. 10 rounders obviously will be very popular for those living in states that ban any mags that hold more than 10 rounds. Check them out at Magpul.com. Hopefully by the time these hit the shelves some of the AR-15 and magazine buying spree dies down, it’s pretty impossible to find PMAGs anywhere, and some retailers are even price gouging the ones they have in stock *cough*…

Kel-Tec PF9 Review

In today’s world of uncertainty, becoming a target is ubiquitous. Full sized pistols, and even some “compact” pistols, can lead to unwanted attention; As a result, concealed firearms (with good judgement and awareness) are the ideal tools help prevent you from becoming a victim. Bridging the gap of sub-compact and a pocket pistol size, the Kel Tec PF-9 is the ideal pistol to fit the bill. The Kel Tec PF-9′s stainless steel slide and polymer frame allows this line of pistols to be the flattest and lightest 9x19mm Parabellum in mass-production. Along with a 7+1 single stacked magazine capacity, Kel Tec’s PF-9 outclasses all the other mass-produced pistols in the …

Key & Peele And Guns

I was catching up on some of their skits: hahah I love those guys.  People have said it before… but it’s like the new Chappelle’s show. Yea yea trigger discipline I know… I was going to point it out, but I decided I’d instead talk about how I was going to point it out… thereby pointing it out sneakily. Thoughts? Kill Scumbags – Raise Money For Breast Cancer

I read into this that buying a box and never using your concealed carry pistol isn’t going to raise as much money: Why use scary looking black talons that the media will villainize you over?  See them try and spin a story where some guy that broke into your house to kill your family got Mozambique’d with cute lil’ pink “flex tipped” rounds.  Ooooooo I just wanna pinch that flex tip’s fat cheeks. Thoughts?  Do you hate breast cancer and love dead bad guys as much as I do? Kill Scumbags – Raise Money For Breast Cancer originally appeared on Everyday No Days Off – Gun Blog

R.I.P. John Noveske

The police report – HERE Damn only 36 years old.  Not that much other than me…  I didn’t know the guy, but from the YouTube videos I saw him in, and the things I read about him he seemed like a class act. My condolences to his friends and family.  I hope they are able to pull through this and keep pumping out quality firearms and accessories in his honor. Remember guys, always wear your seatbelt.  Sure they can get annoying at times, but John may still be here today if he was wearing his. R.I.P. .375 H&H Magnum Still Going Strong 100 Years Later

Happy 100th birthday, .375 H&H Magnum! Why, you’re looking downright spry for your age, what’s your secret? The .375 H&H is proof that sometimes you can get it right on the first try. Holland and Holland developed the round during a time when great technological changes were sweeping through the firearms world. Modern “smokeless” powder was proving superior to “black” powder in every way, redefining what was possible for cartridge ballistics. New rifles had to be designed to cope with the increased chamber pressure of these cartridges. The premier new rifle of the day was the Mauser ’98, featuring a very popular 9.3x62mm cartridge that soon spread worldwide. The Brits at Holland and …

Magtech Ammunition – New for 2013

Brazilian ammo maker Magtech Ammunition has a few new products that will debut in the coming year.  Among them are lines of duty ammunition for law enforcement. The exact details have not yet been released, but there will be two new lines aimed at the police market.  The first will be a line of sniper ammo.  Presumably, this ammunition will focus on the most common law enforcement sniper rifle round used in the United States:  the .308 Winchester. It has long been an article of faith that the best precision rifle bullet in .308 for law enforcement has been the Sierra 168 grain Match King boat tail hollow point (BTHP).  For many police departments, the preferred load has been the Federal Gold Medal.  Another popular choice has been the …

Winchester Introduces 3,000 fps Rimfire Cartridge

Winchester officially announced the .17 Winchester Super Magnum cartridge today, and it does appear to be the fastest and most powerful rimfire cartridge ever. Two flavors have been announced so far; a 20-grain bullet reaching 3,000 feet per second, and a 25-grain bullet traveling at 2,600 feet per second. Muzzle energy on the 20-grain loading is rated at 400 foot pounds, with the slower 25-grain loading measuring 375 foot pounds. By comparison a standard 115 grain 9mm Luger round generates around 330 foot pounds of muzzle energy, so this sort of performance from a rimfire is a true breakthrough. Case capacity exceeds any previous rimfire caliber, and the latest generation ballistic tipped bullets will be utilized immediately in factory loadings. Suddenly, it is realistic to score a humane kill on a …
