Nothing like the TV show. There are actual tips in the book. The author puts actual facts in there as well. Not a bad book at all.

I just received this book for Christmas (2012) and have read up to page 28 and have learned a lot. There are tips from the Army as well as the Boy and Girl Scouts of America. Also there are a lot of “how to” diagrams which I like. I am an Eagle Scout and this is a great book to freshen up on some skills that I learned in the past. Get a Boy Scout handbook if you want to learn more. There are also a lot of tips that I did not know about previously. Great book to add to a bug out bag. However it would be better if you apply and practice the skills within the book. It is small enough to carry but still packs an extensive amount of survival info. I hope they make a second volume! Main message so far that I am getting is to always have the “will” to survive in any circumstance whether you know a ton of skills or very little. Once again I have not read the whole book but more info on Ham Radio would be nice, I am an amateur radio technician (KE7GEN) and can agree that any survivor should be skilled with learning and operating an amateur radio. Also I did not see any mention of morse code yet but that is also a great skill to learn. I am excited to read the rest of the book! It kinda reminds me of the updated new scout book too! Overall great product! My wife and I love the show! Come out with some prepping apps!

I enjoyed the TV episodes and I love this book. Although the end of the world 12/21/2012 did not happened. This just helps you to get yourself prepared for any disaster looming around. Better be safe than sorry.
