This review is from: Cobra 29 LTD CHR 40-Channel CB Radio With PA Capability (Electronics)
I bought this radio a little over a year ago and so far I am torn on the quality. I love the built in SWR meter and how easily it is to tune. However, the radio is picky on what antenna it is hooked too. Don’t be fooled by the “DIM” option, it is still very bright even on the Dim setting.
The PA function really disappointed me because there is no real volume control on it except for the Dynamike. But if you turned up the volume it would only enhance the incoming messages. So my fix was, I had a super cheap radio that I put in my center console without an antenna and I crank up the volume on the Cobra and my PA broadcast is loud.
Now with my gripes out of the way. The chrome look is very nice, the noise filters on it work very well allowing you to choose how weak of a signal you get.
Over all even though I have more gripes than likes, I would still recommend this radio to a friend. Simply because it is like a jeep, it is rough and rugged and has not shown any signs of wear after lots of off road driving.
Oh yea, like I said in the title. I am already looking at buying the Cobra 29 LX. I bought it for my wife and it has automatic NOAA weather stations and 4 color displays to save night vision.

I purchased this radio to replace my old Cobra 29 LTD that I used for over 25 years. Most everyone I know uses Cobra radios because they are relatively inexpensive, well built, stylish, and they will work for many, many, years. In addition, these radios…especially the Cobra 25’s and 29’s can be tuned up quite easily and made to “talk” with really booming audio. The wife and I are full-time RV’ers and I can tell you I wouldn’t travel without one. Many times we have been alerted to traffic jams, inclement weather headed our way, smokey the bear reports (Highway Patrol with Radar), and many other situations one would want to know about. Plus, it can be fun just listening to the truckers rant and rave and can keep you company on long trips, not to mention getting directions from town locals for a good spot to eat! I most highly recommend Cobra radios. You can’t go wrong with one and they are a good radio to start out on as a hobby.

Loved the look on line….love the look now that it is here and I’m using it. Easy to install and functions better than expected. All in all there is nothing bad I can say about this item.
