WATCH: Hollywood Actors Want to Ban Your Guns, While They Make Millions Promoting Gun Violence

We’re not sure if the Hollywood actors depicted in the following anti-gun promotional video are hypocrites or just plain ignorant of the fact that they have played a large role in promoting violence with handguns, semi-automatic rifles and weapons of mass destruction, all the while making millions of dollars in the process. Many have made their careers in movies that are so violent the body counts literally reach into the thousands. First, take a look at the original promotional video (if you can stomach it) where actors like Jamie Foxx and Jeremy Renner demand a plan to stop …

Illinois Moves to Outlaw Modern Firearms and Criminalize Owners

Illinois Senate President John Cullerton will reportedly introduce a draconian bill today in the Illinois legislature that will effectively ban all modern firearms, criminalize their owners, and subject their guns to confiscation by the Illinois State Police. The proposed outlawing of firearms was confirmed by the NRA’s Illinois rep, according to Robert Farago, writing for The Truth About Guns website. The move coincides with a federal effort by Senator Dianne Feinstein to introduce legislation outlawing semiautomatic firearms and imposing de facto confiscation. From the Illinois State Rifle Association: Based on what we know about Cullerton’s bill, firearms that would be banned include all semiautomatic rifles, pistols, and shotguns. Pump action shotguns would be banned as well. This would be a very comprehensive ban that would include not …

A Massive Electromagnetic Pulse Could Collapse The Economy In A Single Moment

What would you do if all the lights went out and they never came back on?  That is a question that the new NBC series “Revolution” asks, but most people have no idea that a similar thing could happen in real life at any moment.  A single gigantic electromagnetic pulse over the central United States could potentially fry most of the electronics from coast to coast if it was powerful enough.  This could occur in a couple of different ways.  If a powerful nuclear weapon was exploded at a high enough altitude, it could produce an electromagnetic pulse powerful enough to knock out …

Wilderness Fire Making: We Have Ignition, by Brad M.

I have been a scoutmaster for 18 years. It is a lot of fun teaching scouts how to make fire using unorthodox methods. Seeing the look in their eyes as they get their first fire built in the outdoors using no matches is a great experience. As a matter of fact, in winter camps where the ground is not frozen I like to use a trench fire pit with rocks in it, then bury it and sleep on top for a very cozy and warm night. I too was bitten by the survival bug when I was a young scout, and the first priority in survival …

Letter Re: Just In Case

I was glad to read in M.L.’s article "Just In Case" that he packs some form of flashlight for the train commute. I wonder if he realizes the single-most important use for it would be inside a tunnel. A grid-down situation will stop subway and above-ground light-rail trains which operate on electricity delivered by overhead wire or energized third rail. Grid-down will also bring at least a momentary stop to diesel-powered trains if the signal system goes dark. Earthquake, terror attack, or even a derailment are other ways one might find themselves onboard a train that suddenly gets stopped inside a tunnel. In addition to…

Letter Re: Argentina Versus Chile as Offshore Havens

Regarding Doug Casey’s linked article on Argentina: The Freest Place in the World. Seriously? That country does all the things we fear the US might do. Rampant inflation? Check. Confiscate retirement accounts? Check. Currency controls & dollar-sniffing dogs? Check. Crony socialism and capricious Diktat replacing rule of law? Check. Punitive taxes on the productive, such as farmer-exporters? Check. Hitler-style appeals to nationalism to justify seizure of assets (such as NPF, the largest oil company in the country) or to provoke rows with foreigners (Falklands). Check. Profound corruption? Check. Argentina is cheap for a reason. Refer to FerFAL (An Argentine who publishes information on prepping from first hand experience in Argentina)…

America’s Biggest Killers: The Chart Anti-Gunners Don’t Want You To See

What we are hearing from bloviating gun control advocates in America is nothing short of emotionally driven irrationality. According to statistics assembled from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Center for Disease Control and the Federal Government, firearms related homicides are minuscule in comparison to other the other “big killers” in the United States. If we look at homicide statistics in the United States it’s clear that more murders are committed with knives, bats, hammers and poisons than with firearms. As Kurt Nimmo recently noted, “ the number of murders committed annually with hammers and clubs far outpaces the number of murders committed with a rifle.” The facts, not the drivel…

Swiss Firm Introduces Divisible Gold Card For “A Scary New World”

As uncertainty about the stability of the global economy spreads and investors look for ways to diversify their assets, precious metals companies are looking for ways to cater to those who are seeking a safe haven in assets like gold and silver. Though often described as “the money of last resort,” one gripe from potential investors about owning gold is that it is costly, currently running around $1700 an ounce, and not feasible as an emergency exchange mechanism in the event of financial and economic catastrophe that may disrupt food supplies and the normal flow of commerce. The problem with one ounce gold coins, or…

North Carolina Police Lieutenant Warns Of Plans For Martial Law In 2013

In this broadcast of the Cybertribe News Network, a North Carolina Police Lieutenant calls in to give his first hand knowledge of preparations being made within his own department to train and prepare for martial law in the United States, possibly in the coming year.  Many similar reports are starting to trickle in from all across the country, through various independent media resources and even organizations like Oath Keepers.  The consensus is that a major economic event is expected, and that it will be used to provide cover for the institution of draconian policies being readied behind the curtain.  The exact timing of this event is not clear, but we do know the planning is being done, and …

Vegan Diet?

I’ve had this thought bouncing around in my head for a week now and I’m curious to hear reader’s take on it. Would it be easier to prep for a vegan diet? It’s an odd thought, I know.  I had a friend recently convert, and I heard an interesting piece on the radio about the rising numbers of vegans. Some are vegan for medical reasons. Some are vegan for ethical reasons. I’ve certainly never been tempted to give up meat, but I do admit, meat is trickier to store than the vegetables are.  Freezing meat leaves you reliant…

It’s Winter – Don’t Go Hiking Without Proper Clothing!

It’s winter here in Maine and that means it’s pretty cold out there.  As I write this at 9:15 pm on Wednesday evening the temperature outside is 3 degrees F.  Not unusual for this time of year. At the top of the fire tower on the summit of Old Speck. About six years ago. I love this time of year!  Hiking, snow shoeing, winter camping, ice climbing, skating, sledding with the kids, it’s all part of the  winter experience for me. The first time I took Mrs Jarhead on a winter mountain expedition it was -22 F.  when we left the bed and breakfast in Western Maine.  B&B?  I was going to hike partway up the mountain and camp, but the missus had …

Technology Addiction in the Electronic Age: Worldwide Progress or Servitude?

From Survival and BeyondBy Joel S. Hirschhorn – Global Research Everywhere I look outside my home I see people busy on their high tech devices, while driving, while walking, while shopping, while in groups of friends, while in restaurants, while waiting in doctor offices and hospitals, while sitting in toilets – everywhere.  While connected electronically, they are inattentive to and disconnected in physical reality. People have been steadily manipulated to become technology addicted.  Technology is the opiate of the masses. This results in technology servitude.  I am referring to a loss of personal freedom and independence because of uncontrolled consumption of many kinds of devices that …

5 Lessons From the Panic of 2012

From Survival and BeyondTEOTWAWKI   Blog The gun control madness has been frustrating for most of us, but I think there are some helpful observations we can extrapolate from the whole mess. This time around, we’re seeing panic buying of guns, magazines and ammunition. Camping gear. Everything. Using the current panic buying environment as a case study, here are a few things you can expect to see: #1. Have what you need on hand: Pretty self explanatory.
