I’ve been meaning to post here, but, life happens. I’ve been way too busy at work, haven’t done much gun stuff, and am pretty much burnt out on news / politics.I’ve bought a house, put down my dog, and rescued a 4 month old puppy. There’s much going on in the gun world in Delaware, none of it good. The Red State / Blue State balkanization continues, with individual liberty continually being crushed in the states controlled by Democrats, and not just on the gun front.Maybe the Courts will save Delaware and other Blue States, maybe not, but it’s hard to be hopeful about gun rights and equally hard to continue to fight for them here. The democrats in…

DDDDDDrop the Bass! (Calculating Bullet Drop)
A bullet’s path is not a straight line. I know most of you are saying “well, duh”. I think it’s safe to say that we all know a bullet will eventually hit the ground however the details concerning path of a fired bullet is not considered by most outside of the standard “know your target and what’s behind it” safety commandment. You know who does consider the path a bullet follows in great detail? Rifle shooters. Maths and stuff after the jump!

Halloween is coming up. This has got to be one of my favorite holidays. We nerds tend to go all out on Halloween as well. Heck, we’ll look for any excuse to dress up in costume. Usually it’s comic conventions or what have you. Regardless, we go a bit crazy. There will be pictures. As the Fourth Doctor once said “There's no point in being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes.” Words to live by. Questions after the jump!

The Bat Signal is LIT! – JPFO – CLaire Wolfe
Claire has lit the Bat Signal over at her blog. Long Story Short. Since the founder of the JPFO has died they’ve had a few problems. Recently the JPFO has had a small financial problem. Nothing major, but 1 of the 3 board members had the bright idea that he wanted to chuck it all and merge the JPFO with Alan Gottlieb’s SAF/CCRKBA humongous fund raising machine. Well there are problems with that.As Claire Explains;”Aaron wanted to educate people so that victim disarmament would go away. He would have been thrilled to be able to close JPFO’s doors and say, “We’ve done it.”On the other hand, he despised Alan Gottlieb and saw …

Feminism, Self-Defense & Victim Blaming
These are the folks who think Ms. Nevada was wrong to say this, from Larry Correia “But I think more awareness is very important so women can learn how to protect themselves. Myself, as a fourth-degree black belt, I learned from a young age that you need to be confident and be able to defend yourself. And I think that’s something that we should start to really implement for a lot of women.”Basically, They think they should be able to just wish bad things won’t happen, and anyone who comes along and says “reality doesn’t work that way” is an evil misogynist who’s victim blaming…. Heck I’d like to not have CP. I’d love to have one day where I’m pain …
The U.S.S.R or America?
“Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.”-Benjamin Franklin 1759There are times where I feel ashamed of what America, “land of the free” has become. This weekend was one of those times. It was also a very happy time, as my baby sister graduated with a civil engineering degree and a GPA above 3.0 (she’s the smart one of the bunch)I attended my sisters graduation from U of D. I’m a Delaware grad, and this was my third time being there for a graduation ceremony. This is the first time I’ve ever been in the football stadium…

Illinois Senate Advances Gun Ban Measures on Semi-Automatics
UPDATE: The Illinois Senate failed to act on the measures detailed below before adjourning Thursday night, according to the (Davenport, Iowa) Quad-City Times. The bills could resurface when the General Assembly reconvenes, though lawmakers are unsure of a timetable. The State of Illinois is back to its same old anti-gun tricks, but if anti-gun legislators get their waythis time, it could mean the end of semi-automatic firearms in the Land of Lincoln. According to Fox News, an Illinois Senate committee advanced two measures Wednesday that, if passed, would place major restrictions on semi-automatic firearms and high-capacity magazines. The (Springfield, Ill.) State Journal-Register reports that…
A $100 Hunting Rifle?
I’ll say this right off the bat: I’ve always been more of a handgun guy. I don’t hunt. I have nothing against hunting and such, I just don’t do it and, I must admit, I don’t have an interest in hunting. So the desire to purchase a rifle or shotgun was never really on my radar. That’s why TJ is a writer for the site. He hunts. He loves rifles. He knows a lot about them. That way, I could stick with my handguns. Then a buddy of mine let me shoot some of his rifles…
