Allan Booker on Food Freedom & Genetic Capital

Allan Booker on Food Freedom & Genetic Capital

I get to interview one of the people I truly admire today. Allan Booker is an amazing man, food freedom advocate and a general all around awesome guy. He joins us today to discuss food freedom and the value of “genetic capital” and why and how we need to be developing our own seed and livestock genetics and how to protect them from the giant conglomerates.

Alan Booker is the founder and executive director of the Institute of Integrated Regenerative Design, training professionals to create ecosystemic and regenerative systems. Starting out with a degree in electrical engineering, Alan now has over 35 years’ experience in systems engineering and 20 years in sustainable design.

He created the Integrated Regenerative Design framework, which allows groups of professionals to work together on large-scale regenerative projects, and is the lead author of the Biocompatible Design standards. In addition to teaching Permaculture and Integrated Regenerative Design,

Alan provides consulting on earthworks, watershed management, soil fertility, bioremediation, forest gardening, holistic pastureland management, natural buildings, and off-grid energy systems.
