Our guest today, CJ Lafferty is a relatively small scale livestock farmer focusing on regenerative practices and raising beef, pork, and pastures poultry. Skyline Pastures, his farm, is located near Hamburg Pennsylvania just south of the Appalachian Trail.
He has grown his side hustle into a substantial farm business although it is not enough that he can quite quit his full time job with the US Army. In the relatively near future he plans to retire from the Army and take his farm to the next level. CJ has had significant success in growing his farm using all available resources and actively seeks opportunities such as experimental technologies and grants to further accelerate his farm operation.
He joins us today to discuss how to successfully find and apply for grants for use on your farm or homestead if you want to become a small farmer.
