Today’s Item of the Day is from Vevor; it is their 37 Lb Counter Top Ice Maker. (Remember to use code VVPROMO to get 5{ebf8267f808eac43d24742043db51eeeb004db6334271e1bb6fe8c21c7925753} off anything you buy from Vevor with my links).
Previously at TspAz, I brought you the Frigidaire Portable Ice Maker, and it is a great entry-level product making under optimal conditions 26 pounds of ice a day. It does a good job for what it is, though it has some weaknesses. Mainly that it doesn’t hold ice well, so it is best for making then moving to a freezer or cooler. I still love it; frankly, I own two, but I am about to show you a heck of an upgrade on this front.
The Vevor 37 Pound a Day Ice Maker is simply awesome and is equivalent to buying 3-4 bags of ice a day if you had to buy it instead of make it. On a normal day, it will also set you back a hefty 289 bucks, and while worth it, why not save some money. Thanks to my stellar rep at Vevor, I got a heads up on this amazing deal; how does 170 bucks or 43{ebf8267f808eac43d24742043db51eeeb004db6334271e1bb6fe8c21c7925753} off sound?
Look, I honestly do not know how long this deal will be around. I have seen sales at Vevor on some items last months, some weeks, some just days, but you can get it right now at this absolutely stupid cheap price. And the ability to make ice is a heck of a prepper topic. Ice saves expensive food from being ruined in a long-term outage, and it is much less energy to make ice than to keep freezers running. Not to mention with ice, it is easier to keep freezers in good shape by running them intermittently during an outage, especially if like us, you have quite a few of them.
It gets better, though; the ice this thing makes is awesome. Why? It makes pellet ice (see the video at the bottom for what I mean). As in ice like you get at some of the convenience stores and what have you. You know the ice that just makes your drink as cold as it can be without it freezing up itself. All that surface area is what does the trick. My granddaughter is in love with this stuff. She eats it like candy, and I will take it as a win.
Another great thing, though, is how it functions. Like the Frigidaire Portable Ice Maker, it has a simple reservoir in the bottom. As it makes ice, it holds it in a basket; as the ice slowly melts, the water returns to the reservoir. When the water level gets low or the ice too high, the machine stops. When ice melts down or is used, it kicks back on and reuses the water. Just add water as needed, and you have non-stop ice.
Thing is, the Frigidaire Portable Ice Maker doesn’t really work that way. The ice piles up and sticks together and shuts off by triggering the “full” lever. As ice melts, it keeps the machine off for a very long time, and when you open it, the ice is well, melted crap in a chunk. It is good for what it is, but it isn’t in the same league as the Vevor machine.
No, Vevor’s Counter Top Ice Maker is simply designed better. Yes, when full, it stops making ice but due to the overall design and the type of ice (pellet) and the fact that it makes ice continuously (see video for what I mean by that), it works flawlessly. Hence while I do move some to the freezer and likely will even pick up some ice bags for events so I can make my own instead of buying it, mostly we just take ice out as we need it and again top up the reserve water as we go.
It just works better; call it 5X as good for 1.5X the cost and to me, that is a win and a buy once, cry once if I ever heard one. Additionally, always remember with my code VVPROMO, you get an additional 5{ebf8267f808eac43d24742043db51eeeb004db6334271e1bb6fe8c21c7925753} off this already stupid cheap price. So check out the 37 Lb Counter Top Ice Maker by Vevor and note there are two other models. I personally think the 37 Lb one is the sweet spot; if one of the others works better for you, so be it.
Lastly, this ice maker, unlike the Frigidaire, can be permanently plumbed into a water line and never need to be manually filled. When you watch the video, you can see that while this would be nice, keeping it full is no real chore. I can’t speak to this feature because I have not done it.
We have a remodel coming up of our pantry, and I may do it at that time, but I just can’t see doing it before that project only to have to rip it out. I read the “how to” and it isn’t complicated to do, most folks that are even the least bit “handy” should be able to do it easy enough. Again see the video for more info and definitely check out the 37 Lb Counter Top Ice Maker by Vevor while you can get it for such a low cost.

P.S. – I mentioned “ice bags” so you can store up ice for events and such in a chest freezer. You can get 100 of them in 10 pound size for only 15 bucks on Amazon here.
