    GOOD:
    > Price is right. It feels like decent quality at this price. Good value.
    > Easy to build. Three poles and it’s up. Almost can’t do it wrong.
    > Pretty big inside. The little mesh “loft” thing is a great place to put wallet, flashlight, etc.
    > Pretty compact and fairly light when packed in its case.
    > Carrying case has good handles and is big enough to hold everything (without a ridiculously tight packing job).
    > The zippers work smoothly.

    LESS GOOD:
    > The rain fly is tiny. Looking at the picture, it’s just that blue cap on top, maybe three feet across. That means the majority of the tent is waterproof, and thus not breathable. It needs more vents or bigger windows.
    > Lack of breathability means more condensation inside the tent, even in dry weather. You need to open the windows and door vents as you sleep. BUT, open windows are not waterproof any longer, so if it rains, you’ll be awakened by raindrops. If you anticipate rain, you have to close all the vents, which means condensation will get you moist inside anyway…
    > The general construction is light. Materials are thin. I will have to be careful to move zippers slowly so I don’t tear anything.

    OVERALL:
Overall, I am satisfied. This will get us through many Cub Scout campouts, all for the price of renting a tent three times.

I think a better tent in this size is the Eureka Timerline series, but it costs almost three times what this one costs. That tent has an entire roof that is breathable, with a huge rain fly. So if I had it to do over, I might just buy up to the Eureka and be done with it – the tent I’ll probably end up buying at some point, anyway.

So I took my tent out for a bachelor party weekend for my future brother in law back in March 2010 for a long weekend. Thankfully, I had the foresight to do a trial run to work out how to put the tent together because this was my first 5 sided tent. Setup was a breeze!!! Only problem I had was putting the rain cover on because I put it on facing the wrong way. It did better than expected because I set up my tent on wet ground and never felt wet the whole time. No moisture got in which is awesome when it got down to the 30s and I stayed dry. I have had a Wenzel sleeping bag for at least 15 years which is why I went with them for this tent. I will definitely use them again!

3 Person Tent? No Way. No one taller then 6′, please, September 22, 2010

I bought this tent because it was inexpensive, had pretty good reviews, and had dimensions which I thought would be great for me and my boyfriend to try out (on the back porch first to ensure it wasn’t defective) We put it up (with absolutely no problems at all, structurally sound) and we bought an Intex Queen standard air mattress and it would hardly fit in! We had to struggle to make it fit. Not only that, my boyfriend who is a little over 6′ would lay down and his head and his feet were hitting the tent! How annoying for him, luckily, I am shorter and it didn’t bother me at all.
If it weren’t for the low price and the hassel of packaging it all back up- I would have returned this for a larger tent knowing that it would be smaller then what the dimensions had said. If we decide to go camping for real, we’ll definitely buy a large tent and use this as a backup incase we bring a friend or two along.
Here are the good qualities about it –
This is great for someone who is shorter then 6′ because the tent has (2) zip-down windows and the front door zips down to reveal mesh as well. The top is mesh and you need to put the rain barrier up if you need it for rain protection. It comes with a cover for the flooring and is a compact size. Head’s up about the zippers. I now understand about what everyone had said about them being “tempermental” and we used extra caution while zipping/unzipping.
