Hard on stove o-ring and pricey,
I bought two fuel canisters including this one and a Giga Peak Power (or some similar name) 8 oz canister and decided to take the Brunton canister on a recent trip as it was a tad lighter. As my Brunton stove was brand new I tried the larger fuel canister and it screwed on easily and didn’t require any excessive twist to get the fuel to flow. On the trail with the Brunton stove and canister, the canister had to really be cranked down on the stove in order to get reliable fuel flow. Several times I started cooking and the flame would die out and I had to crank it on even harder. While it eventually worked, the internal O-ring in the stove was really being squeezed and showed signs of deformation. I will replace the O-ring before using it on my next trip and use the other brand fuel canister.
I have a Soloist cookset and both the smaller (Brunton) or larger fuel canister each fit inside, so aside from a couple ounces weight difference, the larger canister works well in my set up

|Brunton Raptor works great for me.,
I bought this stove and took it to Yosemite for a 5 day hike. It made the hot water without any trouble. I only used two of the canisters, running the stove about 2 hours total. I guess you get about 1 hours a can. Maybe more if I had been able to protect my boiling pot. The one I have is aluminum and has a lid. Makes about 2 cups of water in 10-15 minutes which is enough for a freeze dried meal. The BRUNTANE canisters are small and pack easily. They are not heavy at all. They are 80{660353129f8d892044c993645a1c75194301fec6786a7f617c15adde0b0011e9} IsoButane and 20{660353129f8d892044c993645a1c75194301fec6786a7f617c15adde0b0011e9} Propane. Coleman makes one that is 30{660353129f8d892044c993645a1c75194301fec6786a7f617c15adde0b0011e9} Iso and 70{660353129f8d892044c993645a1c75194301fec6786a7f617c15adde0b0011e9} Propane. The reason is because more IsoButane is better if it is Hot or if the metal of the can is thin! Propane needs heavy steel to exist at room temperature. They mix it to make the can lighter. The heating difference is really not much difference although the more propane you get, the hotter it is. I have used both fuels but I prefer the Brunton 16oz. That is a solid week of cooking and fuel left over.

It’s my fault for not paying closer attention, but realize that the image shown is of an *8oz* canister, NOT a 4oz canister (which is what they’re selling/shipping) – I consider this borderline false advertising – so buyer beware.
Performance-wise it seems to work OK. I have an MSR Reactor stove and the few quick tests I did the canister snugged up fine,didn’t leak, and burned as expected.
Final Thoughts: If I’d have realized these were 4oz canisters, I wouldn’t have bought them – I jumped on the deal because I thought they were 8oz (as in the picture) – so just keep that in mind when you’re looking.
